Hello Sunshine!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
You know I have always appreciated sunflowers but I have never really loved them...not like the way I love roses anyway... but maybe that is because I have only ever seen them up close a handful of times in my life... I have never really seen a huge field of sunflowers other than in the movies etc...

Why do YOU love sunflowers?  Is it their size? Smell? Color? Shape?  I would love to know what draws you to them...

I once was having an awful, terrible, no good kind of day...and my sweet husband had just finished cleaning up a catering event at work and was offered some of the center pieces... do you know he came out to me with not 1 but 2! of these beautiful center pieces!!!  I lost in and couldn't stop crying because of how generous his gesture was.... ever since then I associate sunflowers with the kindness he showed me on that day... THAT is why I now LOVE sunflowers...

Below you will see my old buddy Lorenzo... I seriously cannot get enough of this guy!!! He just makes me feel happy and inspired!

Lo Siento...

So I have been playing with gold leaf foils and I have to say I think I have finally met my match in the crafting world... it has definitely been a challenge but I did find one technique that was easy and fun and I was happy with at the end and that was the technique I used on the card below...

What I did to create the gold leafing design was use fun stampers journey white liner tape...I simply layed the tape down across my card AFTER I had stamped my image and used pan pastels (check out my you tube video for more on using pan pastels) and then I proceeded to dump the gold leafs all over the exposed tape

I then pressed the gold foil leafing down and smooshed it into the tape as best I could and followed that up by using a stiffer paint brush to brush any excess off... this part was rather soothing for me and I loved seeing the design come to life!

If you would like to watch this technique in action check out the video below 😊

Will you marry me? Comic book style!

I guess I am in the Wedding mentality... lol we have had a few friends getting married here as of late so it is definitely on the brain... I am not normally into the comic strip look but I couldn't pass up the chance to use the August Bloom Box in a different way!  I love the results!

Lorenzo gets Married!

I love weddings don't you!?  The start of new love when everything is fresh and new... you have made an everlasting commitment to be there for that other person for the rest of your lives together and the knowledge that you will have your best friend to turn to in good times and bad...

Congratulations Lorenzo and Lola Llama ...
We wish you the best!

I used the "Congratulations" and the hearts on the Wedded Bliss ATS stamp set...(ask me how you can get this for FREE!)

I fussy cut the hearts out of this same ATS set and popped them up using our small foam squares...(links below)

I also used our sparkle silk which has an applicator tip similar to a nail polish brush and I "painted" the hearts to give more shine and a little interest...

The washi tape that was used on this adorable card was one of the $100 Bloom Benefit choices out of our current Amazing Fun Stampers Journey Catalog.... to learn more about the EXTRA Bloom Benefits you can receive when placing a qualifying order...contact me today!!!!

You color my world....

So I posted on Tuesday about how special you all are... and today I was looking at my card and thinking just how colorful our world really is... pretty cool!

This card was created using the technique I briefly discussed on Tuesday.  It is a technique where you...
1. Stamp your ink pads across your gel press... (do not allow your inks to touch!)
2. Use your brayer to roll back and forth and slightly side to side to blend your inks softly
3. Next ink up your world map stamp using the clear pigment ink
4. Stamp your image down onto the gel press over your freshly blended ink
5. Remove your stamp and take it DIRECTLY to your whip cream card front and stamp!  (The stamp will have lifted the color OFF the gel press allowing you to stamp immediately! Super cool right!?)
NOTE: This is how the card posted on Tuesday was created!
6. If you look closely at your gel press, you will see spot you stamped your world map...next take your card front (I prefer 4" x 5 1/4" myself) and lay your card front directly over the image
7. TIP: If you don't want to get too inky, use a sheet of thin copy paper and lay it now over top of your card front which should still be on your gel press!
8. Rub across the back of your card front being sure to rub along all the edges and corners
9. Remove your card front now and check out your super cool impression!!!! Awesome Sauce!
10.  Complete the rest of your card - I traced my sentiment onto my card stock in pencil, stamped it and then cut around the image I had traced to get this fun shape!

What do you think? Did you try it? I would love to hear all about it!!!

Your mean the world to me...

No really!  You do!  I don't care if I have 1 or 1 million, every reader is special to me because you have taken precious time out of your day to spend a few moments with me and I really sincerely appreciate it!

That said I have a super quick, super simple card today!

I saw a video done by Richard Garay, the co-founder of Fun Stamper's Journey and I wanted to try his technique.  I was a little wary at first but llama tell ya! it was easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

I used my gel press, brayer, a few ink pads and a simple card front to create this super cute card!

Inside I shared a simple sentiment, which allowed the front of the card to remain the focus of this card.  I also was able to create 2 cards out of this 1 technique!  Check back on Thursday to see the other fun card I created!  I listed the items below and am working on a You Tube video for this fun card so you all can see the technique and how it is created specifically.  I would love to hear from you!  Do you like watching videos or prefer photo tutorials?

Lorenzo Llama goes to Mexico! 3

Hello again stamping friends!

I will be starting a video series entitled "Where in the World is Lorenzo Llama" on my You Tube channel.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLQtthu8d4bHRS2oT4jjSOw/videos  I am hoping to do a monthly video so keep watch for where Lorenzo ends up next.  Why am I doing this particular series?  Well Lorenzo my name for this super adorable Llama pairs well with sooooo many stamp sets!!!   I am hoping that if you already have any of these sets in your stash you can be inspired to incorporate other Fun Stampers Journey stamp sets and maximize the use out of each of your purchases!!!

So today Lorenzo decided to visit our southern neighbors in Mexico to begin his trek around the world!  I tried to use bright, bold colors, the colors I have seen on the few occasions I have actually gotten to travel to Mexico.

Click on one of the products below for more information.
Don't forget to check back often for the video link and instructions on making this super cute card!

Please leave me a comment and say hello 😊

Lorenzo Llama visits Arizona! 2

Lorenzo Llama has headed to the desert as part of my "Where in the World is Llorenzo Llama?" YouTube video series...

This easy peasy card is a wonderful beginner's card as not to many tools are needed.  Although I did use my Platinum machine to die cut these elements, you can totally get away with using the detail pro shears listed in the link below to "fussy cut" or hand cut out the Llama and cactus.

Silks, Silks, and more  Silks!  As I have said in my videos and you will no doubt see many times in these blog posts "I LOVE SILKS!!!"  They are fast, fun, simple and a brilliant way to add color and texture to just about anything!  The color choices for this particular card are listed below but feel free to ask any questions.

Family Chaos ... find the LOVE!

Ok, almost everyone out there has family of some sort... those who don't have any human ties might have friends or even pets to find comfort and companionship.  Let's admit it tho!  Family life can be tough!  When the new Fun Stampers Journey Catalog came out I was beyond excited to see this super cute stamp.  If you have followed me at all... I talk often of my house full of 4 boys...even the dog is a boy!  Sheesh talk about outnumbered!

To all the families out there never stop fighting to keep the LOVE!

There really is NOT much to this card that is why it is a great beginners card!

Keep On Moving...

Today I wanted to feature and easy, peasy beginners card!  I love how simple this card is and it can be created using most of the items you would get in you Journey Starter Kit if you chose to purchase the starter kit as a hobby or business coach or just to get the super savings deal!  Also the "Hit the Road" stamp set is an available choice in the starter kit, yippeee!!!!

For more info on the starter kit click here  ↓ http://www.funstampersjourney.com/pws/chantelsstampingstudio/tabs/join-my-team.aspx

Ok now to the real stuff... I love this beginners card because it was lots of stamping that did not require me to be precise.  I only needed 2, yup 2 ink colors!  I also only needed 2 colors of Card Stock, Whip Cream and Black Licorice!  Easy peasy!

Dimensions:

Whip Cream CS:  3/4" x 3"  ( Here I stamped in Black the "Keep On Moving sentiment"
Black Licorice CS :  1" x 3 1/4" ( I layered the Whip Cream sentiment on top using my adhesive runner)

Whip Cream CS: Card Base sized :  4" x  5 1/4"  ( Here I stamped the "one way" signs upside down in the limeade splash (you could use whatever color you want here) and then right side up in the Black Licorice)

Whip Cream CS :  Scrap Paper - I stamped the truck in Black Licorice and then "fussy cut" it out using our marvelous Pro Detail Shears!
Black Licorice CS :  Scrap Paper -  I layered my newly cut out truck onto the Black CS using my craft glue so I could get a nice seal all the way around the truck...then I fussy cut around the truck again leaving about a 1/4" border

Adhere all pieces to your Black Licorice card base and MAIL/GIVE away to someone you love!!!

Not interested in joining?  No worries I wasn't either for the first year 😜

Sweeter Than Honey...

...on a stick.... hee hee who knows the song?  I can't read this sentiment without being happy... This card is the very first complete Fun Stampers Journey card I have created and posted for everyone... I was super limited in my supplies as I was awaiting my new Journey Star Starter Kit to arrive 😊😊😊 more info on this starter kit here   ⇓⇓ ⇓  http://www.funstampersjourney.com/pws/chantelsstampingstudio/tabs/join-my-team.aspx

but that is why I thought that this would be a great challenge and an even better beginner card as we are often limited in our supplies when first starting out...

How about you I would love to hear if you are a beginner, intermediate, or advance stamper in the comment section below.

The gold silk splatter in the background behind the honey bee gave just enough texture and dimension without being overwhelming... at least that's my thought lol.   What do you like about this card I would love it if you left me a comment below!

It's Fiesta Time!

Well Hello!  My name is Chantel and I have just recently become a Fun Stampers Journey Coach!  My Coach # is 9513 yup that's me!  I am excited to include you along on my personal journey, as I learn all about unlocking my own world of creativity!  However, as a Fun Stampers Journey Coach I am here to help coach YOU along on YOUR personal journey as well!!!

I wanted to start with a relatively basic card to get us going partly because I was able to use some of what I had on hand, previously ordered as an FSJ customer as I anxiously awaited my new "Journey Star Kit" to arrive!!!  If you would like to get started as a Fun Stampers Journey coach, please visit my website funstampersjourney.com/ChantelsStampingStudio to learn more about the current 3 customizable options, and the DOUBLE, yes that's right DOUBLE stamp offering you can select from during the month of July only!

For this fiesta themed card I really wanted it to feel like you were sitting in a little Mexican Cantina while waiting for your chips and "guac" ha ha to be served.  This card did not need much coaching along it kind of just fell into place.  I used my journey platinum die cut machine which i LOOOOVE because I don't have to cut my paper down!   I can use a standard 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of card stock and run it right through the machine yippee!  I also used my journey circles dies with pierced elements to create the circle that our little guy is stamped on.

The rest is easy peasy, I randomly stamped all over my lemon grass card stock with the Anaheim Pepper from the Fiesta Time stamp set, using the lemon grass fusion ink to get that nice tone on tone look.  Then I added the chips stamped in black licorice.

I used my Grand Pro shears, GUYS! let me tell you something, from a customer standpoint the first time I saw those shears and the price along with them I seriously was almost disgusted lolol NOW I can NOT live without them!!! After i was encouraged by a friend who is now my upline hee hee Hi Cathy! to try them, I immediately understood what all the fuss was about!  Not only do they slice like butter through your card stock, not only are they nice and long so you aren't stuck for 10 minutes making tiny cuts trying to line up from your last cut, but guys seriously! these things are NON stick!!!!  ahhhhhhhhhhhhh LOVE IT!  Whew ok have to calm myself back down!  Long story short I used my shears to create the little tag with the "Fiesta" saying.

I am often asked how I get my tags "tails" so even on my little banners.  Keep watch for a quick little YouTube vid in the future and I will show you guys how!

As I am finally learning and I think possibly retaining all this blogging stuff ... I am making an effort to post 2 times a week... on Tuesdays and Thursdays... Why those days? Well... why not? I mean what do Tuesday and Thursday get? Nothing...  There is Manic Monday, and Humpday Wednesday and TGIF Friday... but what about Tuesdays and Thursdays I felt bad for them...   ok ok I ramble on... Today I am presenting you with another Tim Holtz Hipster art piece... I just love it!

This card makes me think of a sullen teenager... I would know I have 2 of them lol

I also used Stampin' Up! inks with an acrylic block and water to create the background and Fun Stampers Journey Silver Silks Love!  I had some leftover twine that I think was Stampin' Up! like 10 years ago lol.  Would love to hear your thoughts!

Love is in the Air...

I recently had the wonderful privilege of attending the wedding of a very beautiful couple!  I have only been 2 about 6 weddings in my entire life and 2 of them were mine! ha ha  So this was a dream! I wanted to create a card worthy of the beauty this couple displays so be forewarned this is a photo heavy post... I'm late in getting this up here... pft life! But a lot of these products are now in your closets, studios, under beds etc... lol pull them out and create something fun!

Front of the Box envelope

Back of the Box envelope

Interior before i added shaker elements

I didn't like how the white from the adhesive foam tape was showing so strongly so...

... I thought I have never seen this done before but there are people far more brilliant than me on this planet, (it would be nice to think I came up with something new though lol)... I digress, I thought why not use my Stampin' Up! markers to color the interior and exterior of the white foam!!!  I looove how it came out!  The foam tape blended in seamlessly with the paper now instead of standing out like a sore thumb!!!

Before I finished I added the passport sized engagement photo of the couple to the center of the heart inside so now the photo shines beautifully under the shaker element!!!

It is sooooo rare that I can be sooo tickled with my work as I know we all feed off of each other but I felt I had come up with something that was complete and I am always tickled when I didn't have to stare at pinterest for 5 hours to C.A.S.E someone else's design!

I hope you enjoyed my little coloring tidbit... Please leave me a note and let me know if this was a new idea for you...

I did it! I did it! Oh yea yea yea...

Got that song stuck in your head now?  Tee hee... Anyone who is ever around kids might know what song that's from.  Anywho...I am soooooooo excited!!!!!! From day 1 I saw the new catalog I IMMEDIATELY knew what I would be doing with the "A Little Wild" stamp set!!!! I wanted to make a "spinner" card.  I have seen them here and there being done by other companies and I thought...I wonder if Stampin' Up! will come out with a front and back stamp that I could do this with!  Then they did!!!! Yipppeeeeeee  I am sure I will not be the only one to think of this but again YAY for small ideas invented in my own head!!! lolol This card is original to me so I would love if you would please direct others here for more info as well!  Without further ado... My bear spinner card!

I used the NEW "A little Wild" Stamp Bundle item # 145328 on pg. 108 of the New 2017-2018 Annual Catalog!

I also used the new background stamp "Tree Rings"  # 143964
For cardstock I used the returning in color Sweet Sugarplum # 141418
and the NEW Lemon Lime Twist!!! I am in LOVE with this color # 144245
I also used the Layering Circles Framelits on pg 214 Item # 141705
aaaaaaand RIBBON who doesn't love ribbon!  Lemon Lime Twist # 144135
I stamped everything in Early Espresso and Crumb Cake and used the returning gold metallic thread on pg 198 for the spinner cord.

I would sooooo love to hear some feedback on my creation.... So what did you think? Like the colors? Design? Spinning fun?

If you do not already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I would very much like to assist you on your creative journey...contact me today!

To all the parents out there...

Today's post is dedicated to a special boy in my life... My son, Javier!  Javier is a special, young man.  Bright, funny, eager to please and kind.  He is one of the kindest people I know actually. Here's the thing Javier is my step son, but that is language I don't like to use... because I may not have given birth to this boy, but he is my son in my heart and always will be... So as soon as I saw this beautiful stamp set and sentiment from Unity Stamp Co. I just knew I had to have it.  Without getting overly involved in my personal life or that of my son's, suffice it to say he is not living with us currently. For the first time in almost 6 years he is living elsewhere and it is heart breaking!  So today I want to give a shout out to ALL you parents out there!  Whether you are adoptive, foster, biological, step etc... if you are fighting on behalf of your child and sincerely for what is BEST for THEM not YOU (because let's face it THAT can be the reeeeeally hard part) I commend you! Parenting is HARD but the rewards are endless!!!

Images © Unity

Here I used "Heartfelt Cuddles" set from Unity Stamp Co. coupled with Stampin' Up! Cardstock in Whisper White and Soft Sky.  I also used Stampin' Up!'s brand NEW marker in Berry Burst! to do the hearts on the sentiment!  LOVE THE NEW COLORS!!!

I also used Copics (seriously these things are A MAZing!) If you would like to know the copic #'s send me a comment below and I will be happy to update!

Lastly, I used Fun Stampers Journey silks in Silver and Electric Lime!!! Check out my wonderful friend Cathy's site to get hooked up with cool FSJ product! http://funstampersjourney.com/cathycutspaper

That's it for me today fellow stampers...
